I was looking forward to a period Polish detective story, but I ended up feeling like the quality of Polish cinema has somehow drifted off to East Germany in recent years. The gray filter fits the bleak era it’s set in, but it’s not enough to save the whole film. The storyline is pretty odd, and honestly, if you told me this was a crime thriller, I wouldn’t have guessed it from the movie itself. It has its moments, but overall, it just didn’t grab me. ()
