A shocking and compelling story of one woman's fight to protect her daughter against an unsympathetic court system. When her ex-husband is acquitted of sexual abuse against their daughter, Samantha - and awarded custody - Jody Murdoch (Faith Ford) is forced to flee with the girl. They find themselves living via an underground network of sympathizers who help women and their children escape abuse. They change their looks, adopt new names and keep moving to avoid a relentless private investigator hired by Samantha's father. After months on the run, Jody and Samantha find stability in a small town, where Jody meets Jim Rossi (Kyle Secor), a kind and loving man. The two move to another town with Samantha, marry and have a new baby. Their happiness is short-lived, however, when the FBI finds the couple and arrests them. Although she is eventually found innocent of kidnapping, Jody must serve a jail sentence while her ex-husband remains free of any charges. (official distributor synopsis)
