Robert Shaw (Young Winston), Harrison Ford, Barbara Bach and Edward Fox star alongside Carl Weathers, Richard Kiel and Franco Nero in this star-studded high adventure. Directed with an assured hand by Bond veteran Guy Hamilton, this rip-roaring adaptation of Alistair MacLean’s follow-up to the classic The Guns of Navarone sees the elite cadre of commandos embark on a secret mission deep in the Yugoslavian wilderness, during the darkest days of World War II. A generous dose of humor lightened by adventure war spectacle with excellent actors (Harrison Ford after the first Star Wars, before the first Indiana Jones and already in such a typical role), skillfully filmed action scenes and non-distracting special effects (the destruction of the dam or the bridge does not look like the use of miniatures at all). The Guns of Navarone are really quite a higher league, but Force 10 from Navarone is still more than pleasant.___P.S. That modern red locomotive is seriously evil, though. ()
A loose sequel to The Guns of Navarone. It's not an original or believable war film, but the charismatic characters, interesting plot and great music make it definitely an above average film. ()
