Five young losers spend their days and nights wasting their lives away, hanging out in parking lots. On this particular night, they are visited by an old high school friend who has escaped their suburban town to become a pop star. Eric Bogosian adapts his hit stage play for the screen with acclaimed director Richard Linklater in this drama inspired by their own experiences. When a famous rock star visits his small Texas hometown to flaunt his success, the young underachievers he left behind must not only suppress their envy but explore the frustrations of their unrealized personal dreams. After a single night of whirlwind drinking, sex, and violence, their lives inevitably change. (official distributor synopsis)
