English I only really know Thomas Harris from the Lecter series, so I wanted to see what his other stories are like, or at least their film adaptations. That’s exactly what the film Black Sunday is about. It is the only Thomas Harris book that does not feature the character Hannibal Lecter. The film clearly shows that it's somewhat in the style of The Day of the Jackal. We follow the preparations for an assassination that is set to take place during the Super Bowl. The idea is interesting, and the execution is good in places, but overall it's not that strong and does feel a bit drawn-out. ()

English John Frankenheimer he is one of the best action directors (not only) of his time! I didn't mind a single second of the film, it's gripping and suspenseful, it exudes old school while still being relevant. I also recommend the book. ()
