Character driven (anti-)war drama dominated unconventionally by the excellent Brando. The attitude to war is captivating in his performance. The American moments are just ordinary and nothing we haven’t already seen elsewhere. The ending doesn’t really fit with the overall mood in the movie and certainly it could have made a bigger impact with a little more effort. Even so, it’s worth seeing. ()
