John Leeds (William Hurt) and Sarah Norman (Marlee Matlin) are two strong-willed people who discover that real love needs no words. John teaches at a school for the deaf. Sarah used to be the school's brightest student, though she refused to read lips and is now employed as its custodian. John immediately falls for the beautiful and stubborn Sarah, but soon realises he must get past her anger in order to reach her heart. Together, they begin a challenging, frustrating and enlightening journey. (Shock Entertainment)
