Annie Marchand, Arthur's one-time babysitter and the object of his childhood adoration, is a young woman whose life hasn't turned out right. While Arthur is entering into his first true romance with Lila, the eccentric new girl in school, Annie struggles to raise her four-year-old daughter alone. Her estranged husband, Glen, tries whatever it takes to get back into Annie's life. And fails. All hope gone, he plans a final, desperate act. An elegiac portrait of childhood's end, of dreams broken and lost, of hope surviving in the midst of tragedy. (official distributor synopsis)
