What chance does a teenage girl have against a maniacal maniac with a machete? Young Tina Shepard possesses the gift of telekinesis, allowing her to move things and see the future, using the power of her mind. But when a devious doctor tries to exploit her ability, the gift becomes a hellish curse. Tina unwittingly unchains the merciless bloodthirsty Jason Voorhees from his watery grave, igniting a bloodbath that ends in the ultimate showdown in strength of mind versus pure evil matter. With only one inventive murder (the sleeping bag), but with a bunch of unsympathetic characters (kill them all!), an idiotic script (telekinesis), and general impotence, this is a piece of filmmaking that makes the title of the film a logo of losers and the viewer a moron. Both in full force, bravo! ()
"Friday the 13th Part 7" has a story, which is quite positive - Relationships are dealt with here, there are some meaningful characters, and of course there is also an unstoppable killer who fits into all of this with some crazy logic. It might not appeal to everyone, but it is definitely one of those parts of the series that is worth watching and that might not completely bore you. You just have to at least somewhat like B-movie production. ()
