Little do they know that crazed serial killer Jason is a stowaway who quickly transforms the teen-filled 'love boat' celebration into the ultimate voyage of the damned! Only a few survivors reach New York, where the bloody rampage spills into the gritty streets and subways of Manhattan in a deadly game of hide-and-seek - leading to a toxic confrontation with Jason for one final time. English Although logic waves goodbye to the film off right from the get-go, Jason's Adventure No.8 is quite entertaining, especially considering the previous installment. Jason once again proves to be a conscious killer of people with a sense of ideas and fun, which can be appreciated especially in the first half on the boat. As we hit the streets of NY City, the pace eases up and the rest is just a sleepy wait for the end, which offers nothing new under the darkened night moon. Hopefully, at least the thoughtful look at the hockey billboard will stay in my memory longer. ()

English Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan isn't fundamentally a strong entry in the series; it rather falls into mediocrity, mainly because it's not as fresh as it initially appears. I see the problem also lies in the fact that the gore in comparison to the first and second films is really lacking and quite poor here. In this regard, there's essentially no variability, and the film drowns in murders that sometimes hint at originality but are executed in a way that reduces them to mere ticking off of names. ()
