Mark Hartley directs this documentary about the explosion of Australian genre cinema in the 1970s and early 80s. Following the lifting of repressive censorship laws at the end of the 1960s, a new breed of filmmakers revelled in wild excesses of full-frontal sex, bawdy comedies and blood-drenched horror schlock, now referred to collectively as Ozploitation cinema. The film includes interviews with many of the genre's key players as well as modern-day directors and actors including Quentin Tarantino, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dennis Hopper. (StudioCanal UK)

English Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation! is another great example of how documentaries about movies should be made, even about B-movies. It's filmed with enthusiasm, presenting personalities that are noteworthy and about whom you wouldn't otherwise hear. This is just something that makes it worth watching similar films. If you don't like B-movies, here you'll realize they have something to offer, and perhaps you should reconsider your opinions a bit. And it’s not just because you'll get to see really nice breasts.
