The NYPD is not a job for the feint-hearted. It’s a job for tough guys like Detective Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) and Detective Danson (Dwayne Johnson). They steal the show with their confidence, their style and they always get their man. On the other hand, the NYPD does have some guys not so like them; ‘The Other Guys’ are not like them whatsoever. Detectives Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) have a desk job at the office, they never rise to opportunity, and they are reluctant to do better in their jobs, that is, until they answer a call and are forced to step up their game in order to compete with Highsmith and Danson.
