The voyage begins... Sinbad is in love with the Sultan's daughter, Firoozeh, despite the disapproval of her father. When an evil sorcerer, known as the White Thief, kidnaps Firoozeh and holds her hostage in the Black Desert, Sinbad has 40 days and 40 nights to rescue her. I foolishly thought that this would follow in the footsteps of Ray Harryhausen and be like Sinbad with monsters that would somehow be convincingly real through special effects. This was fulfilled to a certain extent, but there is a noticeable clumsiness, and above all, it's got a lot of digital effects, which simply don't go together. Then there’s the story, which is ridiculously acted and filmed and isn't very entertaining. As a reference to Ray, it works at least a little, so a few extra points for that.
