English After the initial sex scene and the ensuing nonsensical dialogue, it was clear to me that Kids and I would not be friends. The pseudo-documentary camera and the unbearable main characters almost made me angry. Something is saved by the conclusion giving a sense of relative coherence and ideas, but the moralistic statement at the end pulls the film back down again. The effort to convey an idea and a warning is truly there. But it doesn't work in practically anything. ()

English “When you’re young, not much matters…” skateboards, intoxication, deflowering, and lounging in the Big Apple that never sleeps (with a condom). Larry Clark presents an unvarnished view of youth living entirely in the present, and how it can only become a lamb when separated from the flock. And parents, or rather adults? They play the same role here as in Tom and Jerry cartoons. Don’t look for a message in this pulsing coming-of-age story; it’s more of a realization that having sex in bed with stuffed animals should be a crime in itself. ()

English The film Kids intrigued me mainly because of how it was shot and how well it captures the reality of adolescence and how young people behave, what they do, and what they are capable of doing, even just for the sake of getting laid. It's like the boundaries are somewhat different, and they are somewhat different, but watching it unfold like this... It's not pleasant. ()
