English The big screen helped it, but I was nodding regardless. The comparisons with Malick are unfortunately true. Beautiful images, slow pace and excessively long. The director is talented, but his movie didn’t lift me off the seat. The actors are good. ()

English This is exactly the kind of film you have to be in the mood for. Just like Cormac McCarthy's books. However, it is questionable whether there is a better way to enjoy such a slow film in a comfortable theater. This is because the great actors in such a simple story will have an even harder time when they’re being watched from the comfort of home, and that is a bit unfair of the director. ()

English I could simply just listen to Keith Carradine because that guy has an absolutely fantastic voice. On the other hand, it would be nice if I could listen to him in something worthwhile. The film Ain't Them Bodies Saints aims to be artistic, as has been mentioned several times; it follows in the footsteps of Malick and stays on a single level where there are essentially no twists. With all due respect, I couldn’t care less about this. If someone likes it, that’s fine, but for me, these are just empty films that use "artistry" to hide the fact that they lack substance. ()
