An ex Special Forces agent has re-located his family to Pompeii to pursue his dream job as a geologist. Whilst his wife and daughter are on a tour of Mount Vesuvius, disaster strikes as the infamous volcano erupts once more. After being denied permission to undertake a rescue mission to save his family Jeff decides to brave the ash and molten lava on his own to rescue them. It s a race against time as Jeff needs to get to them before they are consumed in the fire and Pompeii is destroyed once more. (High Fliers Films)

When a new disaster movie hits theaters, there's a high probability that a cheaper version of such a film will appear. This is a B-grade, badly scripted, and mostly boring movie. Since Paul W. S. Anderson released Pompeii in movie theaters, it wasn't long before a low-budget version followed suit. However, one of the differences is that Apocalypse Pompeii is set in the present day, not during the actual eruption of Vesuvius. You'll get exactly what you expect. The quality is terrible, but it's still fun in places.
