US TV show based on the Vertigo comic book series. Rose McIver stars as medical student Liv Moore, who has recently been transformed into a zombie after attending a wild party. Revived from the dead, Liv finds herself with an insatiable hunger for human brains, a craving she satisfies by finding employment at the morgue of Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli). There, she discovers her appetite allows her to temporarily experience some of the deceased victims' memories, a talent she decides to use to help the Seattle Police Department solve crimes. The show borrows heavily from Pushing Daisies with some minor tweaks, but it still hits the mark for me. I started watching it for some light-hearted fun without having to ponder deep existential questions, and it delivered. It's an easy-going series that makes me laugh, so I'm pretty satisfied. When I compare what I expected to what I got, I should probably give it a full rating. However, I'll dock one star for the unoriginal concept and the character Major Lilywhite, who, along with his actor, gives me a slight nervous tic. On the other hand, Mr. Boss is a standout character who brings a lot of enjoyment to the series.
