Plots(1)

After blacking out a wild party, drug addict Lou (Natasha Lyonne) awakens the next morning in her trailer in a rural and run-down part of Michigan where she begins experiencing some bizarre symptoms. Her best friend Sadie (Chloë Sevigny) thinks she's pregnant despite Lou ruling it an impossibility, but her condition refuses to abate regardless. After going back to her job as a motel cleaner, Lou meets an eccentric stranger named Lorna (Meg Tilly) who claims to be clairvoyant and probes her about her condition. Lorna's stories convince Lou to investigate events from the night of the party further and lead her back to her drug dealer Gabriel (Mark Webber), but what exactly did he give her that fateful night and what has it done to her? English The Canadian-American film Antibirth is well made for what it sort of promises. The pregnancy of a woman who doesn't want a child but keeps it, but with the overall course being horrifying, gradually building up and with a final revelation so strange that it’s perhaps almost misdirected. Still, you have to admit that it definitely has its moments and at times the film is very uncomfortable. The actors were well chosen. ()
