It’s eccentric, but in a rather unsatisfying way. Hawley is a master of bringing seemingly incompatible elements together, but here it falls apart. It’s slightly over the edge in all respects. Moreover, the finale doesn't look very good, and the attempt at Daredevil fluidity feels more like a light digital spasm. ()
A couple of decent slow motion shots, but overall it is a decent mess so far to navigate between reality and fiction. ()
The first episode hit me with a brutal audiovisual overload. Initially, everything was total chaos, but after a while, I started to catch on, thinking I was beginning to understand the plot. However, by the end, I was left with a ton of questions. Who is David? Who is Sydney? Who are all these other characters? Is anyone even real, or is this all just in David's head? And if they are real, where's Professor Xavier? ()
I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK meets No One Lives Forever. An audio-visual refine non-comic psychedelic trip, with no single flaw until the moment when it fully turns into a standard comic book movie and it turns out that the seemingly sophisticated craftiness just simply does not do the job. At that moment, my interest reached zero. ()
