In England, a young American falls in love with the sister of a sadistic and lecherous motorcycle gang leader who despises the American. Let's face it, the culmination and revelation of everything aren't as great as one would expect, and the author of the source material probably didn't know how to camouflage it anymore. But it does have the good vibe of the 1950s, that indelible fear and its consequences. The point definitely isn't a strong aspect of the film, but maybe I'll remember that opening song in my head for quite a while. Oliver Reed excels here.
