English Bodyguard has almost everything: an ideal number of episodes, i.e. the length of the entire series, outline with good optics the thorny issues of contemporary terrorism, corrupt government agencies, double agents and the protagonist's post-war traumas that affect his mental health. The creators deftly combine all of these key screenwriting puzzles together to create a great collage of believable realistic-within-the-possibilities political/spy thriller/drama that is fast-paced, unpredictable and dense with plot. Compared to the US version of Bodyguard, this one feels like it's on steroids, including the love story. Give 007 to Madden! ()

English An incredible six-episode blast! Richard Madden, who delivers an extraordinary performance and, above all, professionalism of the deepest grain, has the task of bodyguarding a London government minister who is being targeted for terrorist attacks. Great pacing, perfectly paced scenes, a rotten, corrupt government and very entertaining politicking and intrigue. I didn't expect the politicking to be what I enjoyed most about the series. Good stuff. Keeley Hawes as the Minister was excellent. 90% ()

English From the first second to the last, an unpredictable testament to all the virtues of British television. There is no shortage of surprising twists, including one shocking one, an attractive environment linked to its supporting themes, and engaging acting performances by all involved, led by the breathtaking Richard Madden, where the viewer is constantly in doubt as to whether the main hero will collapse, perform a heroic act, or just shoot everyone. It's a shame how it gets tangled up in its own web of intrigue right after jumping the basic twist; until then I thought I had a true television miracle in front of me, and instead it's at least a more than meticulous genre piece with an unbelievably high-octane climax. English I can't remember the last time I saw such a thrilling series. What a ride! Especially when I realized that I had no idea who was behind everything until the last few minutes. Some situations were hard to believe, but I will forgive the creators for that. The bottom line is that I was not bored at all. Richard Madden definitely deserves high praise for his outstanding portrayal of the titular role. (85%) ()

English It’s true that the whole premise of Bodyguard is pushed to the point of absurdity—situations so unlikely that even the most incompetent bodyguard in the entire British division wouldn’t let them happen. But once you accept that, you can appreciate the show for what it is. It’s undeniably dynamic, with strong action, solid tension, and a pace that makes you want to binge-watch the entire series. Richard Madden plays a seemingly emotionless character who’s actually holding back more than you’d expect, and I have to admit, it was pretty fascinating to watch him navigate through those six episodes.
