English Miner learned from the mistakes he made like a little schoolboy in the second installment, and his only weakness in this film is his lack of control over the pace (the protracted opening, the drawn-out ending). Jason finally puts on the goalie mask and also finally lives up to the legends that surround him. The kills are spectacular, even almost an exhibition (the harpoon), but the script prescribed a kill list in a predictable package, which in the end (along with the annoying epilogue) forces me to give it a less-than-perfect rating. English Friday the 13th Part III does have that one privilege it holds. It's a privilege within the series that Jason first dons the hockey mask in this installment, which then becomes iconic and easily recognizable throughout the rest of the series. But it's probably the only thing worth mentioning about the film. That's quite a shame. ()
