Women Are Better Diplomats is the first color Reich film. It was filmed between 1939 and 1941, and it took that long precisely because of the protracted difficulties with the color material. Marika Rökk and Willy Fritsch play a magnificent ironic couple. Marika reigns supreme in conversational points and has some beautiful musical numbers. The costume comedy based on Hans Flemming's novel was very well chosen as the emblematic film for Germany's entry into the color spectacle market. ()
