Two teachers of the Russian language find their work to be of little use in post-Communist Hungary and make the decision to move from the countryside to metropolitan Budapest, where they take up learning and teaching English almost concurrently. Despite a series of shocking self-discoveries which only underscore their differences, Emma and Bobe remain friends while living together amid a transient landscape of boho sexuality and exploitation.
