Sophie's Choice a tragic tale of a writer's love for a Holocaust survivor, adapted from William Styron's best-selling novel. Sophie (Meryl Streep) is a Polish Catholic haunted by the 'choice' she had to make in a Nazi concentration camp. Now in the United States, she has found reason to live in Nathan (Kevin Kline), a sparkling if unsteady American Jew obsessed with the Holocaust. They befriend Stingo (Peter MacNicol) a young writer just arrived in New York City who bears witness as the happiness of Sophie and Nathan becomes endangered by her ghosts and his obsessions.
