Šárka, Monika and Marie study at a textile vocational school and share the same room at a boarding house. Šárka has never known her parents and returns each weekend to the orphanage where she grew up. Superficial Monika isn't among the best workers, but she knows how to attract boys. Marie, sensitive and romantic, experiences platonic love for Otto, who is in the army and corresponds with Monica thanks to a dating advert. Monika's no good at writing interesting letters, so Marie does it for her and ends up falling in love with Otto. Animosity therefor sprouts up among the girls. Šárka tries to defuse their little "girl war", but Marie realizes that the situation has to resolve itself... (Zlín Film Festival)
